At the age of 12 in Kolonyi trading Centre- Nakaloke Sub County, in Mbale district,Uganda I had an encounter which set my life on course; God spoke to me in 1999 through a vision. Heaven suddenly opened and I saw a great light brighter than the sun and someone seemed to sit upon something like a throne at the source of the light. The throne was as though it had been covered by the sun, I therefore bowed my head because the rays were so strong and I couldn’t keep looking through the brightness. At the moment I was very sickly and thought I wouldn’t live long. While in that fear of death one night I had this vision, a voice came from above and said.
“Richard, Richard, Richard -Iam the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and
the end; you are my son don’t be afraid, you are not going to die, you must
accomplish the task that I have set before you”.“You are the son of the mother’s vow. years ago before you were born your
mother wanted to have sons and vowed that if I gave her sons, she would give
one of them back to do my service. You were born and you were presented to me:
then he said, you are that son”. Just like the little Samuel in the bible you I was
raised in the hands of missionaries (St Mugagga Baby’s Home Jinja District in
Uganda).
FAMILY BACKGROUND
Iam born to a family of six children, two boys and four girls. The first two are girls
and the last two girls. I and my elder brother Moses Amodoi in the middle of the
girls. My mother Betty Angela has served has a Sunday school teacher since I was
14 years, as an elder and teacher of the word in Christ co-workers Ministry.
Mother told me the story of our family when I wanted to know about the
whereabouts of our father Simon Victor Amodoi whom I didn’t grow to know.
that at the age of five or six, our Dad mysteriously disappeared after joining the
Alice Lakwena cult in an attempt to defend his family from the witchcraft tragedy
that had befallen his father’s family, his life was threatened and therefore tried to
do everything to survive that landed him into a mysterious disappearance with no
traces till this day.
Shortly mum also went insane and the family was left in torment. But God had a
plan for our family according to Jeremiah 29:11 that says, “For I know the
thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not
of evil, to give you an expected end.”
When we left without help, God heard our cry and sent Catholic missionaries who
actually intervened in the situation for a while. They took us away to be raised in
orphanages, I was privileged to be one of the kids who was favored and taken to
a Boy’s Home in Jinja—however Satan was still at work.We lost every property that belonged to our family. Only God could deliver our
souls from a very terrible and evil foundation. God’s plan for our lives was never
shuttered down.
